LVC’s M.Ed. is designed for educators who already hold at least their initial Level I teacher certification in Pennsylvania.

No. Prior teaching experience isn’t required, though 1 to 3 years is recommended. However, the program does not provide initial teacher certification. You need a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA.

Most students complete the program in 2 years. Your advisor will work with you to develop your course plan based on your employer reimbursement schedule.

Yes. The M.Ed. is fully online, so you can enroll from anywhere. Keep in mind that the certification benefits—Level II certification, Act 48 hours, and PDE endorsement alignment—apply only in Pennsylvania. If you teach in another state, you’ll still earn the degree and certificates and build the same skills, but we’d recommend checking with your own state’s certification board to see how the coursework applies to your licensure.
